Life. A game, a stage, a divine playground. Shakespeare called it a stage where we are all actors, playing our roles. Florence Scovel Shinn described it as "The Game of Life," complete with rules, power plays, and the magic of intuition. Carl Frederick, in Playing the Game the New Way, reminds us that life is not about winning or losing but about mastering the art of playing. Even Jesus hinted at life’s game-like nature, urging us to live with faith, joy, and an understanding of our inherent power to co-create our reality.

So, what if we took these perspectives to heart? What if we approached life as a game—not one to be taken too seriously, but one we can rewrite at any moment? With so many potential outcomes, we can literally have anything we truly want.

The Game We’re All Playing

Imagine life as a board game or an open-world video game.

  • The Rules: Every game has rules, some visible and others waiting to be discovered. These might be societal norms, natural laws, or spiritual truths like Karma "what you give is what you receive."

  • The Players: You, me, everyone around us. Some play as allies, some as rivals, and others as teachers who challenge us to grow.

  • The Goal: To expand, learn, and enjoy the journey. Like someone said it was never truly about getting it done, enjoy the becoming!

Your thoughts, words, and beliefs are like moves on the board—they shape what unfolds. By shifting your perspective, we can rewrite the narrative and break free from old patterns. While it sounds simple, it's not easy. Only until you learn how to play, upgrade to new ways of playing the Game to WIN consistently.

Why You Shouldn’t Take It Too Seriously

When we forget life is a game, we get caught in unnecessary struggles. We are always presented with 2 choices, either to take actions from love or fear. Also Pain & suffering are optional! For instance if someone loses their 9-5 job and they are already late in paying bills. Instead of being victim to this situation, check with yourself if you were truly living your truth in this job or if you have a deep longing to do something creative that could be useful to others. We become overly attached to outcomes, riddled with anxiety, or paralyzed by failure. But stepping back, we see that the stakes aren’t as high as we think. The beauty of life’s game is that:

  1. You Can Restart Anytime: Lost your way? Change the script. Life allows for reinvention as often as we’re willing to make it happen. I changed my career of 10+yrs while it was still rewarding but I rebooted it for who I truly wanted to be in life.. Time can never be your excuse from avoiding living your true potential.

  2. Failure Is a Feature: Every setback is a lesson in disguise. The greatest gamers learn through trial and error.

  3. You Have Infinite Power-Ups: Faith, love, creativity, and intuition—these are tools at your disposal. You are always protected by your soul even if you don't believe in a higher power.

The Power to Rewrite Your Story

The most empowering truth about life’s game? You’re the author, director, and player all in one.

  • Shift Your Mindset: Power of affirmations—speaking as if you already have what you desire. Words like “I am successful” or “I am safe and secure” can change how you play.

  • Trust in the Flow: If you think you're on your own navigating life, observe & trust life’s unseen hands. When you stop forcing moves and start flowing, the game becomes intuitive and joyful.

  • Be Willing to Learn: New skills, new perspectives, new ways of thinking—they’re all part of leveling up. Nothing is impossible when you see yourself as an evolving player.

Life as a Playground of Possibility

Whether you see life as a stage or a strategic game, the essence remains: it’s all temporary, malleable, and meant to be lived with passion and lightness. You don’t have to stick to a role that doesn’t fit. You can change the rules, explore new paths, and co-create with the divine intelligence that underpins it all. Remember this is an illusion (Maya) as we call it.

As Jesus implied in his teachings, faith can move mountains. As Shakespeare observed, we can play many parts. And as both Florence Scovel Shinn and Carl Frederick assert, the game’s outcome depends on our ability to dream, act, and align with the deeper rhythm of life.

So why not play boldly, love fiercely, and rewrite your story whenever it feels stale? You were expected to blossom into your authentic version. Life’s more about playing, growing, and embracing the infinite possibilities within you. The secret is you always Win in Life! This game was never set up for failure.
